The sound of post punk and brittle funk Glasgow (early Associates, Orange Juice, Joseph K) run through every track on 'Hyper Real' but the Bunnymen, Gang of four, The Fall, Wire and Joy Division, among many others, can be heard in there too.

The Hyper Reel is the brainchild of drummer Gregor Dick, who corralled the disparate talents of Stephen 'Sam' Davis (ex of Playing Soldiers, Ginger Bottles, Van Impe), on Vocals, Brian McPhie, of Lola In Slacks (Ex of The Big Dish, James Grant, Marianne Faithfull), Ali Hendry (Who plays with EVERYBODY in Glasgow) on Trumpet and Keyboards and ex Van Impe guitarist Stewart McNaughton on Bass and Keyboards into a tight-knit 5 piece recording project that has already taken its first steps out in to the live arenato launch our debut album 'Hyper Real'. The album was recorded at Chem 19 and Green door Studios and enlisted the help of Gordon Keen (ex BMX Bandits, Captain America, Jean Honeymoon of the Honeymooners and featured on the most recent Hi-fi Sean Album an Lou Reid of Lola in Slacks
